Question 1. Write a Report for a Newspaper on the basis of the following points --:  

          POINT   1. (Incident -->Collision between a bus and an auto-rickshaw.)      2. (Date/Time-->15th September at 2 P.M.)    

                          3. (Place--> Ultadanga / near railway station)         4. (Cause--> Rash overtaking by bus driver in wrong lane) 

                          5. (Casualty---> 5 died, 3 injured hospitalized)        6.(Effect---> road blocked by local people, police searching for driver)

    Question 2.   Write a letter to your friend describing to him how ‘Hindi Diwas’ was celebrated in your school.

   ( Points --> day, date and place/ importance of Hindi Diwas/ What is Hindi Diwas/ programmes organized/prizes/ impression on you)

 

Question 3.   Write a letter to your friend describing him a twenty-twenty cricket match that you saw at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

         (Points -->date of match, companions à teams playing à scene at the stadium à excitement, noise à result of the match à impression on you.)

 

Question 4.  Write a paragraph on ‘The Problem of Malaria’.

  Problem --> Malaria is spreading rapidly.     

Cause --> Mosquito bite.     

Symptom--> (i) headache (ii) sudden fever with shivering (iii) vomitting

Treatment --> administering quinine 

Remedy -->(i) spraying DDT. (ii) draining stagnant water. (iii) using mosquito nets.  (iv) cleaning the locality.

 

Question 5.  Suppose you are the secretary of the cultural club. You will organize the play ‘Abak Jalpan’ by Sukumar Roy to raise money for the flood victims. Write a notice informing students about date, time, venue, artists of the play, cost of tickets, where and how to get tickets etc.

 

Question 6. Read the following flow chart and write a process on ‘How to get books from library’. 

( points -->Reader enters library --> deposits bags --> goes to book racks --> selects a book --> goes to the Librarian --> gives library card --> book issued.)
